Jim McJunkin

Jim graduated from Penn State in November, 1982 and in July of 1983 he entered the Pennsylvania State Police as a trooper. In April, 1987 Jim left the PSP to become a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) where he enjoyed a 25+ year career.  While with the FBI, Jim served in the San Antonio (Texas), Atlanta and Washington DC Field Offices; and he spent nearly 9 years assigned to the Counterterrorism Division at FBIHQ where he rose through steadily the ranks to the top spot of Assistant Director.  Jim spent the last two years of his career as the Assistant Director in Charge of the Washington DC field office, the FBI's second largest office with more than 850 Special Agents under his command.  Jim retired from the FBI in November, 2012 and accepted a position with Discover Financial Services (Discover Card) located near Chicago, Il.  At Discover, Jim holds the position of Vice President of the Enterprise Threat and Intelligence Management group, as well as, the title of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

Jim was the 2013 Penn State Department of Sociology and Criminology Outstanding Alumni Awardee.
