Graduate Students Raise Money for Local Animal Shelter

Each year Sociology and Criminology graduate students raise money at the annual holiday party with a live and silent auction, and the funds are donated to a local organization of their choosing.  This year the group voted to donate $900 to Fonda's Foundlings, a cat rescue in State College, which will use the money for food, litter, and medical expenses.  The shelter has rescued nearly 1,750 cats and kittens in the past 18 years.  Director and Founder Shirley Fonda is retiring soon and is working to find homes for the remaining 34 cats.
