Never teach alone!  Educators from across the world are using online platforms to find and share pedagogical resources and support one another.  Nathan Palmer will discuss the wide variety of resources available to educators online and his research on the formation of online teacher community networks.  If you’ve ever wondered why you would want to use social media professionally or in your classes, this is the presentation for you.

More about the Presenter:

Nathan Palmer is a Lecturer of Sociology & Anthropology at Georgia Southern University and the creator of SociologySource.org, SociologyInFocus.com, and SociologySounds.com.  For the last four years he has dedicated himself to helping sociology educators and students through sharing his experiences and creating free open classroom resources.  He currently serves on the American Sociological Association Special (ASA) Task Force on Social Media and will lead multiple social media training sessions at an ASA preconference workshop this fall.  In addition he researches and speaks frequently about issues of social justice, pedagogy, and the impact technology has on teaching.
