Penn State’s Sustainability Institute and the College of the Liberal Arts' Latina/o Studies are co-hosting a virtual screening of the film "The Infiltrators" on Friday, October 9 at 6:30 pm. This screening is part of Penn State's Hispanic Heritage Month.

We believe this film might be of interest to students and faculty in the Sociology department, as it follows two undocumented American youths affected by the DREAM Act who organize to be captured intentionally by ICE so they can advocate for immigrant rights from within long-term, for-profit detention centers. We are also fortunate to be able to host the filmmakers, Alex Rivera and Cristina Ibarra, after the screening for a panel discussion. Both the film and panel discussion are free and open to everyone, both from Penn State campuses and the surrounding communities.

The film's trailer and registration link to attend the film are available at: https://intersections.psu.edu/the-infiltrators
