Professional Bio

Renzo Fernandez Escobar is a doctoral candidate in Sociology and Demography at Penn State, where his academic work focuses on aging, family demography, quantitative methods, and children's well-being. He has also participated in research projects related to parental incarceration, family structure, and children's educational outcomes. He is currently working with Ashton Verdery on a project on kin availability for older adults in the U.S. Before entering graduate school, Renzo worked as a consultant, analyst, and researcher for governmental and non-governmental organizations. He also worked as a TA at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru.
