Sociology Major Student Organizations

Sociology Major Student Organizations

Sociology Club

The purpose of the Sociology Club is to better serve sociology students and those interested in sociology through a pursuit to honor academic excellence, enhance leadership, foster community engagement, and encourage unity and understanding in the field of sociology. The goals of the club focus on community service projects and career development events for sociology students. In partnership with AKD (the sociology honor society) the club holds graduate school information sessions and various career development events to help students identify their career interests and learn how to use their degree in sociology or related fields. We also have social events such as watching and discussing sociology-related movies and Ted Talks, conducting social observations, and having dinner together. If you are interested in joining or would like more information, please contact the faculty adviser, Samar Farage (sxf14@psu.edu) or visit our Facebook page, Penn State AKD to learn more.
