Penn State Assistant Professor of Sociology Ashton Verdery was recently selected as the winner of the this year’s Roy C. Buck Award! The award recognizes the best article accepted or published by a refereed scholarly journal in the social sciences within the last year, with some preference given to articles focusing on minority issues in the United States. He was selected for his 2017 article with Rachel Margolis, “Projections of black and white older adults without living kin in the United States, 2015-2060” published in The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
He will be presented with the award at the Awards Luncheon on April 18. Congratulations Professor Verdery!
