Dr. Altman is an Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri with appointments in the Department of Health Sciences and the Truman School of Public Affairs. As a social demographer her work broadly focuses on population health and immigrant well-being. She has done research on topics such as obesity, fertility, weight perceptions, and self-assessed health. Her current research examines the role of legal status on health and life course transitions for young adult unauthorized immigrants.
