Edward Shihadeh (1992) is Professor and Chair of Sociology at Louisiana State University. Dr. Shihadeh started his career as a mathematical demographer, and later acquired an interest in crime and deviance in order to understand the tangle of social problems and despair in Black inner cities. Dr. Shihadeh examines macro-level factors such as racial segregation, concentrations of poverty, and labor market composition.
