An Assistant Professor of Sociology and Spatial Sciences at the University of Southern California, Emily continues to study how social institutions are involved in the creation and maintenance   of health disparities. In pursuing her interests in family and schools, she documents global differences in kinship patterns and educational experiences by investigating them in contemporary African and Asian contexts.
