Patrick Rafail (2012), an Assistant Professor at Tulane University, is a political sociologist whose research focuses on social movements/collective behavior, with a special interest in the structural underpinning of variability in protest policing.  He links protest policing to spatial patterns of social control and stratification.  Pat also works in applied statistics, particularly Bayesian methods, semiparametric analysis, and machine learning.
